apartment-friendly workouts

With winter in full swing, I have absolutely no desire to leave my apartment and face the frigid cold if not completely necessary. I’ll bundle up for class, for interviews, and for going out, but when it comes to working out, I’d rather not. I’m aware that this is probably a result of lack of motivation, which I will own 100%, but isn’t there a way to stay warm and be healthy?

Here are some of my favorite apartment-friendly workouts so you can get it right and tight in the (warm) comforts of your own home.

Blogilates

Cassey Ho makes working out, dare I say it, fun. She talks you through every video like you are close friends, and her energy is contagious. Her program consists of completing 3-5 short YouTube video pilates workouts per day, with some rest days built in. I love how every video is unique, targeting different areas of your body, and I can check it off on my printable calendar! You don’t need any equipment besides weights and a yoga mat, making Blogilates great for working out at home. Cassey also has a Blogilates app where you can track your progress and view videos as well as her own fitness line! She’s adorable and I’m obsessed with her. Watch her intro video, and you will be, too.

Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred

You love her or you hate her, or if you’re like me, you hate that you love her. Jillian is known for her role as a trainer on the Biggest Loser, getting results through tough love. She has designed a program where you work out for 30 minutes every day for 30 days. You begin on level one and gradually advance to level three. All three videos are available online for free! If you like consistency in your workouts, this is a great option.

Kayla Itsines’ BBG

The most expensive option is Kayla Itsines’ Bikini Body Guide, but it’s also gotten amazing reviews. With your purchase, you receive a PDF of her workout guide. You work out for 28 minutes 3 days a week, which sounds like a breeze, but Kayla kicks your butt. I can honestly say I’ve never been more sore than after the first two Kayla workouts. Kayla’s also released an app, Sweat with Kayla, that requires a subscription and keeps you more accountable with the program.

Stay warm and stay healthy this winter with these workouts! Just make sure you don’t work out at midnight and wake up your neighbors downstairs:)
