How to Decorate Your Apartment for Fall

Happy October, everyone!
Fall is officially in full swing and my heart couldn’t be happier. Why? Fall is the gateway drug for CHRISTMAS!
I have received an awful lot of messages on Instagram whenever I’ve shared snaps of my apartment’s fall decor, so I figured I should share the little touches I’ve added to my “normal” design to make it more fall-friendly. My apartment is pretty cozy, so I can’t do anything crazy like some people (cough: my mother) do for holidays. One day, perhaps, but for now, I get into the spirit by adding some little touches, but mainly through swapping out things that are “regular” for “seasonal”.  This means that my apartment doesn’t look or feel cluttered, since something normally is sitting / hanging where my fall items are. I have placed the “normal” stuff in closets or under my bed – see you in January!!!

My Fall Decor

Example 1: My kitchen towel rod gets a fall makeover with just the removal of a floral hand towel and adding in this pumpkin spice one!
I added a “Fall” banner above my TV to add something extra to the otherwise boring white wall!
I normally have a painting I got in Paris hanging on the wall by my buzzer, but for fall, I took it down and stored it in a closet. I now have a hand-me-down from my mom hanging that is more seasonally appropriate!
This is perhaps my most favorite – I found this pillow for $3 at Target. It’s tiny but adds some seasonal cheer to my couch!
I also swapped out a larger candle holder in this grouping for a jack-o-lantern one.

  1. Aww I absolutely love your fall decor! I need that pumpkin spice hand towel 🙂 I decorated my house for fall in early September because I was just too excited! But I’m just reallllllyyyy excited to decorate for Christmas- I’ll have to check back to see your Christmas decorations!
