Alternatives to the Holiday Party Dress

This one is for the ladies who will NOT be caught dead in a dress – what in the heck are you supposed to wear around the holidays?! Every retailer known to man is SHOVING dresses down your throat, and that just won’t do. Here are some of my suggestions for fun, festive and FUNCTIONAL alternatives to the holiday party dress.

Jumpsuits and Rompers

Perhaps the most obvious answer to your dilemma is a jumpsuit or romper. All the bells and whistles of a dress, just with pants, possibly even pockets. I recently got my first jumpsuit and let me attest that you feel bomb walking around looking extra fly in your snazzy jumpsuit. If you’re in a warm climate or like wearing tights (I hate it) you can also forgo the long pants and just wear a romper!

Bodysuits

My next suggestion would be wearing a fun bodysuit. They can be paired with pants or skirts, and depending on the formality of the event you could even wear jeans! I think bodysuits are really flattering since they suck you in and accentuate your waist, so looking hot and being comfy seem like a win-win to me. PS – I just got a red sparkly one that is $10 and I included below! It’s up on my instagram.

Fancy Sweaters

I think fancy sweaters may be an oxymoron, but you know what I mean. A sweater that looks nicer than what you wear to work or school, something a little more formal and fit for a party. There are few, but they do exist, I promise!

Leather Leggings

Leather (or more realistically, pleather) is making a comeback – throw on some leather leggings, heels or booties, and a cute shirt, and you have a trendy and comfy look for your party.

I hope this helps to give you some alternatives to dresses for your holiday parties!
