summer ’16 must-haves

With summer just around the corner, it’s time you start stocking up on the essentials and the latest trends!

Bralettes

Extra layers mean extra misery during summer. Instead of a cami or a tank underneath thing, opt for a bralette. It combines two of your extra layers and keeps you extra comfy, not to mention that they’re normally lacy and cute when they stick out!

My pick: Punkiss Floral Lace Bralette, $14

One-pieces

One piece swimsuits have made a comeback with the help of Frankie’s Bikinis and other designer brands. I personally love them because they hide food babies, unlike bikinis, and they generally are more supportive for the well-endowed. This suit is the perfect mix of cute and edgy with the cut outs and black lace. I love!

My pick: Roxy Hazy Daisy Cut Out One Piece, $61

Pink Drink

If you haven’t heard about the latest Starbucks secret menu item, you’re missing out. The Pink Drink is a strawberry refresher with coconut milk instead of water complete with some strawberries floating around. It’s insta-worthy and oh so tasty.

Magenta lipstick

I’m a big fan of bright lipsticks, and summer is the time to go for it if they’re normally outside your comfort zone. Too Faced lipsticks are some of my favorites, and this color is to die for!

My pick: Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Metallic Macaron, $21

Metallic clutches

Maybe it’s just me, but when it’s hot, I like to minimize the stuff that can stick to my skin: sleeves, heavy fabrics, and occasionally, purse straps. Make a statement with a cute shiny clutch and save yourself the trouble of the dreaded sticky strap. This one is amazeballs and it’s on sale!

My pick: Aldo Wildin Envelope Clutch, $27

Stacks on deck

Stacked bracelets, that is. It seems like you just can’t wear one bracelet anymore. Some companies have begun selling different styled bracelets in packs because they know the ultimate goal is to get a full wrist, and they’re normally way cheaper than collecting bracelets on your own!

My pick: Bohemian Gold Stacking Bangle Bracelet Set, $22

Intricate braids

When it’s hot, your hair is inevitably going to become a frizzy mess. Fight the frizz by braiding it! Whether it’s two french braids a la Kardashian, a crown braid, or a Dutch braid, braids keep your hair in place and keep you cool in the summer sun. 5 minutes on Pinterest and you’ll be a pro!
