As my blog is stillllllllll under construction, I’ve been trying to limit my posts because the more posts I put up now, the more work I have to reconfigure the new site ? but here is a brief update of what’s been going on in the past few weeks in preparation for the relaunch!
Big10K
I ran (/walked when my ankle started bleeding) my first 10K with my mom and got to celebrate Purdue while I did it. It would have been a far more enjoyable experience without the blood and the huge scabs I now have, but I have learned my lesson about heels before a race. I’ve also accepted that I will have something medically wrong with me anytime I run a race because in addition to this 10K with my bleeding ankle, I had bronchitis during the 5 mile St. Patrick’s Day race in St. Louis, and then there was the PUDM 5K… Hopefully the next one is a little easier!

Chicago in White
I got to attend the sixth annual Chicago in White in Hyde Park with my mom who was in town for the Big10K. It was super fun to meet other bloggers and media outlets! It was also an excuse to wear white for one of the last times this summer (#RIPSummer16) and I got to try out my newest Kylie lip kit. I felt straight out of Gossip Girl at Blair’s White Party!

Windy City Bloggers Boat Party
I attended my first Windy City Bloggers Collective event this week and had a blast! It was so great finally getting to put names (and Instagram handles) to faces. There are so many fabulous women and men in this group and I feel honored to be a part of it. The views were incredible and I loved getting to see my new city in a new way. I was also happy that my dress matched the hats the boat provided perfectly!! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again very soon!

Neiman Marcus Cusp Gold Coast Fashion Show Preview
Anything that involved fashion for the kids is my kind of event. If you’re a newer reader (and there sure are a lot of you!) I was involved in PUDM throughout college which supports Children’s Miracle Network.
Lurie Children’s Hospital benefits from the annual Gold Coast Fashion Show put on by the Children’s Service Board, and I was lucky enough to be invited to the preview! It was so much fun getting to see the picks for fall as I met some new friends and sipped on some bubbly. I also got my hair braided and felt very Game of Thrones when I was trying on some of the fur vests and jackets with my hairdo. Neiman Marcus was kind enough to provide us with VIP goodie bags full of product samples, coupons, and accessories.
Make sure you get your tickets for the fashion show in September! You won’t want to miss it!

College Send Off
Nick, Melissa, and Zack are back to school, and I was glad I was able to see them one last time before they moved back! Still in denial that I am not going back to Purdue… The Cactus snaps last night did not help.

Max Factor Makeup
Quick shout out to Max Factor for giving me a box of goodies! I had so much fun playing around with the eye makeup and the different colored lipsticks. The brand is available in the US this summer only, so make sure you buy it while you can.
What’s up next for me? A family vacation to Canada! After that, back to Chicago and the grind (and to trying to make this website FINALLY relaunch). This fall has so many exciting things in store: weddings, PUDM 2016, homecoming, Drake round 2, visits to friends… The list goes on and on!
