As the temperatures rise, it can be hard to find work outfits for summer that keep you cool but still fit into your office’s dress code. Today’s post is all about the best tricks I have for finding summer work outfits!

The first thing I suggest doing is finding a summer blazer. I don’t know about you, but I was told to always keep a blazer at my desk in case of an emergency meeting or video chat. The black blazer you have probably will make you sweat buckets during summer, so simply find a replacement for the warmer months!
AKIRA sent me this adorable white blazer with fun sleeves. I think it’s the perfect mix of whimsical and professional, and it’s LIGHTWEIGHT! This is going to be my summer blazer for meetings and networking.

Everyone knows the struggle of a skirt sticking to your legs on a hot day. Avoid that by getting flowy and airy skirts (that are long enough for the office!).

If your office is more formal, lightweight pants may be the way to go. You will still be dressed in business appropriate attire, just a little cooler than the wool pants you wear in winter! Be mindful of crazy prints, unless your office allows that kind of thing. I know everyone’s office dress code varies.

When it gets hot, you don’t want a skin tight dress on, I can promise you that. Make sure that the dresses you are wearing are made with lighter fabrics and are comfortable enough to get you through a long hot day.

High-Cut Tank Tops
An easy way to cool down your work outfit is to remove sleeves from your tops! Just make sure the tanks are high-cut so that the wrong skin isn’t showing 😉 tank tops range anywhere from 1 finger width to 5 finger width – most all office dress codes fall somewhere in there. I personally think 2 finger width is plenty, especially if you have a cardigan to put on for meetings.
