Tropical Vibe Skirt

It’s been a while since I’ve done an old-school outfit post 🙂 wanted to share one of my favorites so far from summer ’18! When you’re living in the city (or any landlocked state) it can be hard to channel the tropical summer vibes of the beach, but I think this outfit does a pretty darn good job.

Skirt – Red Dress Boutique, $34 | Bodysuit – Target, $16 | Necklace – Kendra Scott, $75 | Bracelets – Etsy, $26 | Heels – DSW, $49 (similar) | Headband – Francesca’s, $12

I saw this skirt on Red Dress and HAD to have it. It also comes in teal and I was debating between the two colors, but yellow is more sunny and bright to me, so that’s what I decided on! I am wearing a size MEDIUM for length.

I had a few IG DMs asking me about how this skirt is tied – basically there is a little button on one side that you connect the skirt with, and then you tie the wrap part in front to create the tulip in the front of the skirt! What this means for you is that you can get away with sizing up for length and then tying it tighter!

Because the skirt is so bold, I wanted to tone down the rest of the outfit. I went with a simple white tank bodysuit on the top with a Kendra Scott necklace to add a little something of interest. The bracelets were relatively neutral, but because they were chunky with tassels, I thought they played nicely into the tropical fun vibes! I also added a cute headband for another pop of teal.

I finished it off with my classic black buckled heels, and voila, a city girl is *~*tropical*~*

Are you wanting to see more outfit posts? If so, let me know! It does feel good to get back to the meat and potatoes of my blog 🙂
