The Sunscreen That You + The Planet Will Love

This post is sponsored by Alba Botanica and the InfluenceHer Collective. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make Sophisticaition possible!

I just got back from a fun trip to the beach – and you know I had to bring my Alba Botanica sunscreen along!

I am extremely fair skinned, which means I need to have a sunscreen with me at all times when I’m at the beach. Some people are blessed with the ability to turn redness into a tan the next day… I just peel!!! I have to be conscious of choosing effective sunscreens that don’t bother my sensitive skin.

Let’s talk a bit about this brand and how we got to working together. Alba Botanica is a brand that makes effective yet natural products. They’re good for you, and good for the animals and the earth! It’s especially important for me to find brands that look out for the environment – and I was so excited to find reef-friendly sunscreen that ACTUALLY WORKS.

The two sunscreen products I used are the Hawaiian Green Tea Lotion with SPF 45 and the Hawaiian Coconut Clear Spray with SPF 50. Both sunscreens are reef-friendly, contain 100% vegetarian ingredients, have no synthetic fragrances, do not test on animals, and consists of other elements that are environmentally friendly!

The Hawaiian Coconut Clear Spray is super easy to apply in the form of an air-powered mist. It smells reallyyyy good too! The formula is biodegradable and certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization. It’s free of oxybenzone, octinoxate, PABA, nano-sunscreens and Vitamin A. I used the spray for areas like my feet and my arms. It has SPF 50.

The Hawaiian Green Tea Lotion is a moisturizing lotion with SPF 45. It’s non-greasy and water resistant, which are must- haves when I use sunscreen lotion. I hate the feeling of sticky, “won’t rub in” white sunscreen!! Thank goodness this quickly rubs in and stays on. It’s free of oxybenzone, octinoxate, PABA, nano-sunscreens and Vitamin A.

Both products are free of ingredients identified to have potential adverse impact to coral reefs! They work, and they’re not damaging to the planet – win, win.

Get both products on the Alba Botanica website!!
