What I Wore in Europe

I have to admit, one of my favorite parts of going to Europe was planning out my outfits!! I knew I wanted to be edgy in London, girly in Paris, etc. and I was online shopping for weeks beforehand. Take a look at my Europe looks and see exactly what I wore!

My first look for LFW! I loved this outfit purely because of the comfort, but it made me not stand out as an American!

I believe this is where the American began to show 😉 I did get a variety of compliments on this Target top, though!

This pullover finally came in just in time for my trip, and I am so glad it did. 10/10 recommend, so comfy!

Did you know that Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone was written right here in Edinburgh? ⚡️J.K. Rowling was living here as she began writing the first Harry Potter novel. Edinburgh Castle looks an awful lot like Hogwarts Castle, a Tom Riddle is buried in the cemetery, and personally, I think this street looks like Diagon Alley ??‍♂️? This book series meant a lot to me growing up and it is so cool getting to see parts of it IRL. I was really shy and introverted as a kid (can anyone even believe that now?!?) and these books let me explore a whole new world. I can remember my aunt driving me to a Barnes & Noble about an hour away from our family vacation spot just to get the newest Harry Potter book at midnight! ? My favorite character was/still is Hermione. HP was one of the first book series I had read where a main female character wasn’t chasing boys or worrying about an outfit. She was the smart & rational one who saved the day with logic, and she chose to do what she believed was right instead of what was “cool.” I think I saw a lot of myself in her, and it was really special to see someone with my interests and personality playing such a pivotal part in these books. I call this the Harry Potter look because of the glasses! I picked up this sweater in London from Topshop and fell in love. It’s so comfy and not itchy at all like some thicker sweaters can be.

This is my basic French outfit 😉 the top is from River Island and oh so comfy, and the skirt is from Topshop. I got both in the UK but they are available in the US, woo!

This, I feel, is one of my underrated looks, but I digress. I love how this looked against the pastel street we were on! Pants are OOS but the rest is linked.

This dress is FINALLY online! It is gorgeous. I wish I had another occasion to wear it!! Hair accessory is 3/$12 at Free People, run don’t walk.

What better outfit to eat 2000 calories in a sitting in but a comfy one?! I love this cheap jacket from Shein. I also redeveloped my love of vintage scarves on this trip!

This photo was actually so misleading because I was sweating my brains out in that wool. It wasn’t hot… we just had climbed up to the castle using a very steep staircase 😉 but it made for a cute photo! And the wool cardi is comfy!

My favorite look of them all…. is it a dress? Is it a cape? Whatever it is, I loved it, and I think I actually got a lot of kudos from the chic London girls on this one.

the world is too big to stay in one place & life is too short to do just one thing ⚡️if there’s one thing I will take away from this trip, it’s to say YES — to going outside your comfort zone, to new career opportunities that will either sink or swim, to traveling even when you think you can’t afford it. I speak from experience, because I did all those things during this whirlwind of a work + fun trip. When the invitations for meetings and showings during London Fashion Week arose over summer and it lined up with my friend getting moved to the London office of her company, I knew I couldn’t NOT go, even though I knew it wasn’t exactly in the budget. I saved up, took on extra campaigns and freelance work, and cut major corners to make it happen { lots of cheap street vendor food along the way helped too ? } and then when the friends who planned on joining me backed out a week beforehand, I had to start from scratch. It made me look for opportunities to meet new people and make some friends, to travel solo { like who in their right mind books a train to Paris by themselves?! } and just to enjoy being alone with myself. And I’m so thankful things turned out the way they did, because it’s been a much-needed break from my “normal” that it challenged every part of that “normal”. If you’re still reading this ily but I want you to know that only good things can come from going outside your comfort zone. It’s when you learn who you really are at your core and what you are capable of. And it’s a blessing ❣️ http://liketk.it/2xCiB @liketoknow.it | #liketkit #caitpattontravel #ltkeurope #londoneye #darlingescapes ? @staceywhite_photography

My “Princess Diaries” dress, as I called it. I felt regal and channeled Anne Hathaway as I wore it on the bridge by the London Eye!
