From Barre to the Bar with Febreze

This post is sponsored by Febreze. As always, all opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting brands that make Sophisticaition possible!

Over the last few months, I’ve shared more about my fitness routine and my journey to getting back in shape with you. It’s been hard but SO worthwhile, and now my workout time has become a much-needed mental break from my day. It’s also been so encouraging to hear from those of you who are right there with me, trying to carve out time in our busy schedules to make it to the gym!

I wish I had the willpower to walk into a gym and spend a full hour pushing myself on a treadmill and machines, but I don’t. I need someone to guide me through a workout and keeping me accountable. That’s why my go-to workout is a barre class. I love how I’m able to get a full cardio workout in while still toning up my core, legs and arms. It’s the best of both worlds!

I also love the other women that take barre classes with me. At first, the conversations with my fellow classmates were things like, “We’re supposed to do WHAT?” but as time has passed, we’ve all become friendly. Sometimes, we’ll play on the saying “From Barre to the Bar” and head to a coffee bar after class.

The problem is, y’all, I SWEAT during barre.

Some girls can go in with a full face of makeup and leave with it intact. Not me! I have always been someone who sweats when I’m hot, active, etc. and barre sometimes can feel like a sauna. This means that when I walk out of class, I can be a smelly mess! Who wants to go to coffee right afterward and be self conscious that you brought the barre sweat smell in with you?!? Plus, it’s not like my gym bag is big enough to fit a brand new outfit for me to change into – and I don’t want to be that girl holding everyone up!

Turns out, I’m not alone – 84%* of gym-goers say that they run errands within two hours of working out. That is a LOT of potentially smelly people in line with you at the grocery store!! Luckily, there is a really easy solution that will get you feeling (and smelling) fresh post-workout!

For the millions of us who don’t have time to immediately change and wash our workout gear, just #FebrezeYourGear. I have started throwing a travel-sized Febreze Fabric Refresher in my gym bag and simply spraying my entire outfit, shoes and bag to get me ready for the post-barre coffee bar – GAME CHANGER!!

Febreze Fabric Refresher with OdorClearTM Technology cleans away odors in two simple ways: 1) seeks out tough odors and 2) cleans them away by deactivating and replacing them with a light, fresh scent. I can go from a smelly, sweaty mess to a post-workout glow with just some sprays of Febreze Fabric Refresher and giving myself a messy top knot.

If you’re like me, and let’s face it, 84% of Americans*, and you instantly jump back into real life when you leave the gym, you NEED to start using this stuff. No amount of perfume will ever give you the same result – take it from someone who has tried and failed SO many times 😉 Simply spray Febreze Fabric Refresher on all your gear (sneakers, jacket, leggings, gym bag, etc.) until completely damp to safely and effectively clean out any smells that need to stay at the gym where they belong!

As part of the #FebrezeYourGear campaign, Febreze just released its new Activity Index** that found the nation’s top 20 metropolitan areas with the highest activity levels include San Francisco, Seattle, Minneapolis, Denver, Los Angeles and New York. Chicago is classified as “very active” and I see people in their gym clothes running errands ALL the time here! Be sure to check out the graphic below and see where your city ranks.

Hope you enjoy this awesome life hack!
