giving thanks
On the last day of the busiest month of my life, I figured it’s time to sit down and put pen to paper (figuratively speaking, that is.)
November 2015 was full of stress, caffeine, and memories. On top of the giant work load that Purdue loves to give at this point in the semester, searching for jobs that don’t require 5 years experience (spoiler: they’re seemingly nonexistent) and the normal day-to-day activities with PICC, Boiler Communication, etc., there was PUDM. Crazy does not even begin to describe it.
As much as I dreaded opening my planner each day to see the mountain of tasks before me, I am thankful for everything that I experienced this November.
I am thankful for the long days of classes and assignments ending at Harry’s with my friends.
I am thankful for the positive feedback I have heard from old bosses and professors as I reconnect with them for references.
I am thankful for the grueling Purdue academic system that has taught me excellent time management skills.
I am thankful for all the support I have at Purdue and at home.
I am thankful for the 25 other executives that shared this year-long journey through PUDM with me, as well as my 31 committee members who never lost faith in me.
I am thankful for the $1,101,297.26 we raised for the children of Riley Hospital.
I am thankful for the life I have and the opportunities I’ve been given.
Now, bring on December and the never-ending Christmas music.
